About Styloz Paint
Styloz is a hybrid waterbased paint made by PT. Inti Daya Guna Aneka Warna (INDANA) designed for various articles of clothing—especially shoes. Styloz uses a custom-made, elastic binder that allows the painted articles to remain washable without losing their color in the process. The fabric also retains its flexibility thanks to the binder‘s elasticity, maintaining maximum comfort when worn. Dust does not stick to the paint, keeping your art bright and visible, and further highlighted by our high pigment concentration. Styloz is a high-performing, universal solution for creating art on apparels. It is compatible with multiple materials such as leather, cotton, and canvas-allowing artists to experiment on a wide variety of clothes and accessories.
Other than our rich variety of color choices and special pigments such as glow-in-the-dark, photochromic, thermochromic, fluorescent, and pearlescent, Styloz also includes various complementing products that were created based on the feedback and guidance of renowned clothing customizers in Indonesia:
Styloz Primer Undercoat
Application on a highly porous surface such as denim and canvas can be assisted by Styloz Primer Undercoat, a varnish that closes the porous surfaces to allow better paint dispersion on top of it and also prevents most of the paint from seeping past thin materials.
Styloz Finisher
Protective clear coat that can also alter the finish of the paint. Although Styloz Paint it self is already quite resistant, Styloz Finisher offers additional protection against the weather, abrasions, and other common elements that may prove hazardous towards painted materials. Styloz Finisher is available in Matte, Satin, and Gloss finish.
Styloz Leather Preparer and Deglazer
To ensure Styloz Paint adheres better to ready-to-wear leather apparel items, removal of the original factory protective coating from the item is essential. Styloz Leather Preparer and Deglazer will safely treat the leather’s surface so that the material will be able to accept a new layer of coating. This product irritates the skin, so be careful when handling it— a cotton ball or thick cloth is recommended.
Styloz Diluent
Paints are commonly diluted to adjust their opacity —especially when the painter wants a water color-like finish. Paint dilution, although a very common practice, actually reduces the paint‘s adhesion strength and its other properties. This is fine when the artwork is not exposed to various elements and forces that may endanger the film — but many of our customers routinely wear their customized apparel. Styloz Diluent can be used to dilute Styloz Paint while minimizing the loss of paint properties.
Styloz Adhesion Promoter
Styloz Adhesion Promoter is designed to help Styloz Paint adhere better to hard surfaces, such as plastic and glass. Those surfaces often have an ex- tremely dense, almost-impenetrable surface in the microscopic scale. This makes it very difficult for the paint to form a film that adheres to the surface. If the paint fails to penetrate the surface, thefilm will peel off. Anadhesion promoter will harden the film and ensure that it strongly grips on to the material.
Styloz Glow in the Dark
Styloz Glow in the Dark is a high pigment concentration Glow in the Dark paint. Due to its film’s slightly colored nature, it is best applied upon a similarly colored surface (green or blue)using even brush strokes or an air brush. The film needs to be exposed to sufficient sunlight to ‘charge’ its glow. Please thoroughly shake the bottle before application.
Styloz Duller
Styloz Duller is a matting agent additive designed to adjust the paint‘s glossiness. When the painter wants a matte finish without applying Styloz Matte Finisher, they can mix between 10% – 20% of Styloz Duller into the paint before applying it.Styloz Duller can also be mixed into Styloz Matte Finisher to make it even more matte. For your convenience, Styloz also has ready-mix matte black and matte white colors in its Styloz Matte Series product line.
How to use Styloz Paint
Styloz‘s application method depends on the material it is being applied on.The following is the general rule-of-thumb:
- Clean the media that will be painted. Dust can be especially harmful towards adhesion.
- Shake Styloz Paint well before using it.
- Pour Styloz Paint into a separate container since dippinga wet brush directly into the bottle can accelerate bacterial growth, which will accelerate the paint’s expiry date.
- Apply Styloz Paint evenly using your chosen application tool. For air brush use, dilute the paint using Styloz Diluent to your preferred viscosity before pouring it into the airbrush.
- Wait for each layer to dry-to-touch before applying another layer. Keep adding more layers until you achieve your desired opacity—a vast majority of our customers apply between 2 to 4 layers depending on the color and the media.
- Let the painted item cure completely for 24—36 hours on room temperature before wearing it. Film tackiness will decreaseas the paint cures.
